Palin Interview Countdown

It seems like people are starting to notice that Sarah Palin has yet to be interviewed by a single, legit news organization. America blog notices, People are asking on Yahoo, and The Page has some fun with the matter.

Obviously, this election is about McCain, not Palin, but come on, do a freaking interview! This is pathetic.

A couple quick updates: Time is reporting she will not be available to the press. It’s only a matter of time before some besides me will begin their own countdown, someone with a bigger budget than mine, someone who can put an actual clock. Lucky bastards.

The Vice President Does Matter

For those of you who say the VIce President doesn’t matter, think again. My wife’s grandmother FINALLY decided she was going to vote Obama because she loves Joe Biden.

Too many people in this country don’t vote on issues.

A reader writes in response to this post:

Strange how people can describe McCain as “working from the center” and claim he caved in or surrendered by choosing Palin over Lieberman as his VP. The very nature of working of working from the center is compromise. Compromise means that you sometimes have to give a bit to get a bit.

Palin shares a lot of McCain’s political views, especially about reforming the US government. She wasn’t his first choice, but she seems a good choice for McCain and she’s much more acceptable to the Right. Of course I’m biased. I wanted Palin as VP for some time now.

McCain Surrendered

For a man who claims to know how to win wars, McCain surrendered pretty easily on his V.P. Pick. We all know who John McCain wanted. He wanted his good friend, Joe Lieberman. While I personally can’t stand Traitor Joe any more, I can see why McCain would want him…two guys, who really believe they work from the center of a polarizing Congress. Two guys who both claim that the war against Islamic Terror is the greatest threat of the 21st Century.

However, the “Maverick” caved. He needed to pander. He needed to energize his base, so he picked a Governor who makes the crazed-right happy. Someone who probably believes when I masturbate, I’m committing Infanticide. It’s almost sad when I see McCain claiming that Sarah Palin was his ’soul’ mate.

McCain surrendered his decision to win this election…Country first, huh?

Palin Interview Countdown

It is day eight of the Sarah Palin Interview Countdown. Don’t expect one today, not with McCain speaking. We don’t want her stealing any more of the old man’s thunder. They’ll ride her speech through the weekend. Again, my personal gut guess says she’ll do one by mid-week next week, looking to put some distance between some of the lies she told last night.. However, if this first interview is done by Fox News, we’ll be keeping this Countdown going.

Blogger Sets a Trap

So clever, those Conservative bloggers. Setting those traps for us Elitist leftest, surrender-monkey, America-haters. This clever guy (don’t give him the satisfaction of clicking on his site) decided to bait left-bloggers into clicking onto his site by writing “Sarah Palin Nude Photos”. Wow. Here’s his brilliance in his own words:

“Load up a post with words suggesting you have naked photos of Sarah Palin, and see how many leftoid Google hits you get from people trolling for “ammunition”. You know – showing how conservative voters will abandon her in droves if they see her in a bikini.”

Yep, that’s actually what I was thinking. Man, that Palin gave one tough speech tonight. If only there were some shots of her in a bikini, then everyone will hate her because don’t you know it, conservatives hate bikinis (at least when women wear them).”

That so nails me. For the record, I came across his site because it was on the main “WordPress” site, with his little scheme readable.

Palin’s Speech

I’m extremely bias, so I’m probably not the person to ask, but answering the question, “how was Sarah Palin’s speech?” will depend on who you’re asking. The base and the people inside that arena will love it. Outside, I’m sure people will respect the effort and the ability, but it was so condescending.

While the Dems did their part hitting McCain during their convention, it usually always started off with a complement of McCain, followed by attacks on his actual record, his flip-flop or something he had actually said, “I agree with the President (Bush) 90% of the time”.

Her speech just reeked of belittlement of Obama, which I’m completely confident is their goal. I’m just not sure how that’s going to play. While the Democrats talked about creating ‘One America’, the Republicans and Palin, spent the evening attacking ‘Elitist’, the East Coast, San Francisco, etc. The same old, same old we’ve been hearing since the late 60’s and Nixon, used well by Reagan and perfected by George Bush.
