Can an (Under)dog Defeat a Gator?

Seriously, when was the last time the Miami Hurricanes were 21-point underdogs? Maybe during the probation years in the late 90’s, but doubtful. You will probably have to go back to the early, early 80’s.

But after last season’s 5-7 collapse, including an unspeakable final game in the Orange Bowl against Virginia (48-0), these Canes might be lucky to only be 21-point dogs against the #5 Gators.  When you consider the Gators are being lead by a Heismen Trophy winning QB, while the Canes are playing a freshman in his first game, three touchdowns seems kind. Add in a revenge factor, with the Gators looking to pile on (after six straight painful loses to the Canes), I would not be surprised if we see another game like the Oklahoma/Miami game last year where the Sooners beat down the Canes 51-13…and that was with a freshman quarterback leading OU.
